Fans who congregated at Bomber Ballpark were treated to extra-inning drama.
The Jacksonville Jacks defeated the South Carolina Bombers, 6-4, in Roberto Clemente League action at Bomber Ballpark, with Jacksonville pitcher Yoshiaga Rin named player of the game. Jacksonville reliever Kichibei Endo was the winner. His record is now 7-7. The losing pitcher was Juan Manuel.
Ashton Stanton, who is tied for 8th in the RCL with a .313 batting average, chipped in for Jacksonville with a 2-run home run in the top of the 12th. For the game, the third baseman had 2 hits in 6 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
"We take it day by day here," said Stanton, "and today was a good one for us."
The losing streak for South Carolina has now reached 5 games.
