The Bloomington Blazers beat the Vancouver Pioneers, 9-0, at "The Fort" at B.C. Place. The win was largely due to the efforts of shortstop Fernando Franco, who captured player of the game honors. He was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 4. The Blazers bumped their record to 78-49 with this latest triumph.

Franco had a big at-bat with runners on 1st and 2nd in the top of the second inning, when he hit a 3-run home run. The Blazers went on to win.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Franco told the Bloomington Citizen.
