Fred Price could take little solace in pitching a good game. The fact is his Brooklyn Black Knights lost, dropping a 2-1 decision to the New York Mafia at Don Corleone Park. Even with the win, the Mafia have a dismal 41-85 record.

The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the ninth. With New York trailing 1-0, Lance Adams hit a cutter from Mike MacInroy to right for a 2-run single. Just like that, the Mafia had a walk-off win.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Adams told the New York Chronicle.
