Marauders Win at South Carolina, 7-3
|
The Maple Marauders defeated the South Carolina Bombers, 7-3, at Bomber Ballpark today. Leading the charge for Maple was center fielder Andreas Kubel. He was 3 for 4 with 3 singles. He scored 2 runs. Khurshid Durrani earned the win to go to 2-1. He allowed 2 earned runs on 7 hits, with 2 walks and 4 strikeouts. Earning his 1st save of the year was Hariz Sahir.
The Marauders got a big at-bat from third baseman Jordan Smith. For the game, Smith went 1-3 with 2 walks. In the top of the fourth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 3rd hit of the season gave Maple a 2-1 lead.
"We've got a great group of guys," Kubel said, "and we're having fun right now."
With their winning streak at 4, the Marauders have raced to a strong start this season.
