Bloomington Bats Go Silent in 3-0 Loss
|
The first-place Maple Marauders welcomed Bloomington to Legends Park.
The Maple Marauders took Bloomington pitcher Landy Lu's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Legends Park. The final score had Maple getting past the Blazers, 3-0. Lu went 6.2 innings and allowed 3 earned runs, striking out 6. The win was Maulik Shaw's in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Landy Lu took the loss for Bloomington. Hariz Sahir was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 9 of 11 save opportunities.
The Marauders got a big at-bat from first baseman Kojuro Ine. For the game, Ine was 1-3 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 37th home run of the season gave Maple a 3-0 lead.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Maple manager Jesús Alfaro.
The Marauders own a robust 90-31 mark.
