The Dallas Texans had to overcome a big game from Portland designated hitter Rafael Cruz to leave Waterfront Park with a 7-5 victory. Cruz was 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and a walk. Maximino Pato was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 1 of 2 save opportunities. The Texans raised their record to 65-55.

Dallas used the timely hitting of Toshiharu Takuda to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the 13th inning to put the Texans on top, 6-4. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We put it together today and came out with the win," Takuda said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
