Ochoa Helps Beavers Run Win Streak to 3
|
The Portland Beavers topped the So Cal Republic, 9-5, with right fielder Ignacio Ochoa playing a big role. Ochoa went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Beavers in the win. The win was Jian-guo Yang's in relief. His record improves to 2-3. Donkal Ubriani took the loss for So Cal. Portland now has a 3-game win streak.
Lai-hsiang Xiu aided the Portland cause with a 2-run single in the top of the fifth. For the game, the first baseman went 2-4 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Ochoa told the Portland Gazette.
