Blazers Prevail, 4-3, Over San Francisco
|
San Francisco got a terrific game from right fielder Hisaji Maekawa. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Bloomington, 4-3. Maekawa was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He went 3-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times. The winner was Mitsuzuka Koyama, who threw 104 pitches over 6.2 innings. The right-hander was charged with 3 runs on 8 hits. The Blazers have an impressive 76-45 record.
Roger Barrett, who is tied for 7th in the TML in extra base hits with 46, aided the Bloomington cause with a run-scoring hit-by-pitch in the bottom of the first. For the game, the right fielder drove in one run.
"We put together a nice win," Barrett said.
