Mustangs Prevail, 5-3, Over Oklahoma City
|
Benefiting from an exceptional performance from Denzel Kemsley, the Mile High Mustangs defeated the Oklahoma City Prowlers, 5-3. Kemsley went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Mustangs. The winner was Rintaro Shinoda, who threw 85 pitches over 6 innings. The right-hander was charged with 2 runs on 5 hits. Quan Que earned his 33rd save in 39 chances.
Kemsley contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Mile High in the top of the fifth. With his team trailing 2-0, Kemsley took a splitter from Ryan Goldberg and stroked the home run to left. His 3rd home run of the season allowed the Mustangs to leap in front, 3-2.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Kemsley told the Mile High Chronicle.
The Mustangs bumped their record to 65-51 with this latest triumph.
