2033 is shaping up to be a forgettable year for the Cabo San Lucas Toreros.
The South Carolina Bombers beat the Cabo San Lucas Toreros, 6-3, at Field de Los Layendas. South Carolina second baseman Jean-Claude Petit earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He went 3-4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. Ange Schmit got the win, improving to 14-10. He worked 6.1 innings, giving up 3 runs on 5 hits, while striking out 9 and walking 2.
Zhao-ying Gai, who is a three-time All-Star, aided the South Carolina cause with a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh. For the game, the designated hitter was 2 for 4 with 2 singles and a walk.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Gai.
The Bombers bumped their record to 68-51 with this latest triumph.
