The Portland Beavers did just enough to sneak past the So Cal Republic, 4-3, at House of the Republic. Portland pitcher Rolf Pals earned player of the game honors. Pals, now 7-8, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 3, walking 2, and allowing 3 earned runs. Olivier Martin notched his 29th save in 34 chances.

Ralph Blair hit a 2-run double off Elias Bowen in the top of the sixth, which put the Beavers in front, 3-2. In addition to the double, Blair had 1 single, while going 2 for 4.
