Islanders Topple Jacks with Late Rally
|
The Jacksonville Jacks and Hawaii Islanders provided some drama at Skellington Stadium.
The Hawaii Islanders did just enough to sneak past the Jacksonville Jacks, 4-3, at Skellington Stadium. Hawaii pitcher Rodrigo Garza earned player of the game honors. Hawaii reliever Hidetada Abe was the winner. His record is now 5-1. Juan Martínez took the loss.
Gilberto Jiménez made it 4-3 in favor of Hawaii when he delivered a run-scoring single. It came with two out in the top of the ninth. The red-hot Islanders went on to win.
Garza told a Hawaii News reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
The Islanders, now 70-48, have won 10 in a row.
