The Columbus Aces downed the Brooklyn Black Knights, 10-2, at Blue Ivy Stadium. Greg Holder led the way, going 3-for-4 for Columbus. The winner was Columbus reliever Thomas Wright, now 4-4. The loser was Xiong Yang. Dave Garcia got the save, his 1st in 1 chances.
Holder had a key at-bat for Columbus early in the game. With the bases loaded, he hit a 2-run double. It was his 7th double of the season and gave Columbus an early 2-0 lead.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Holder told reporters after the game.
Even with the win, the Aces have a dismal 40-75 record.
