Victory Pushes Armada Record to 70-48
|
With center fielder Iván Morales leading the charge, the Quebec Armada defeated the Georgia Grays, 7-4, at Lucky 7 Ballpark. Morales, who is rated as the 31st best prospect by BNN, went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Mitsuo Kobayashi earned the win for Quebec. He lasted 7.2 innings, allowing 4 earned runs on 10 hits, while striking out 5. With the win, he raised his record to 9-11. The Grays, at 37-81, have lost 4 in a row.
Howard Stevens went 1 for 4. He drove in 2 runs for Quebec. The two-time All-Star had a key at-bat in the bottom of the third. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Ánibal Altichioro. It was his 64th RBI of the season.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Stevens said.
