Rhinos Topple Republic with Late Rally

The So Cal Republic got a superb performance from pitcher Felipe Rodríguez, but the Rubber City Rhinos still won the game, 4-3. Rodríguez was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 7 innings allowing 2 runs. The Rhinos bumped their record to 73-42 with this latest triumph.
The game was decided with no one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Rubber City trailing 3-2, Pedro Martínez hit a fastball from Pin-zhen Au to right for a 2-run home run. Just like that, the Rhinos had a walk-off win.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Martínez told reporters after the game.
