Campos 3-4 as Beavers Squeeze Past San Diego
|
The Portland Beavers dealt the San Diego Hops a 9-8 loss at The Brew Stade. Carlos Campos was the star on offense. He was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. Olivier Martin converted his 28th save in 33 tries. San Diego now has a 8-game losing streak.
Campos had a big at-bat with runners on 1st and 2nd in the top of the sixth inning, when he hit a 3-run home run. The Beavers went on to win.
In postgame comments, Campos told the Portland Gazette: "Do people still doubt I give 100 percent?"
