Victory Pushes Texans Record to 62-52
|
The Dallas Texans beat the Seattle Sasquatch, 9-6, at Metroplex Park. The win was largely due to the efforts of designated hitter Michael Fitzgerald, who captured player of the game honors. He went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. The winner was Dallas reliever William MacDougal, now 2-0. The loser was Jun Nakayama. Adrien Clément converted his 24th save in 29 tries.
The Texans got a big at-bat from center fielder Juan Calderon. For the game, Calderon went 1 for 4 with a double and a walk. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the sixth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run double. His 12th double of the season gave Dallas a 8-6 lead.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Calderon told reporters after the game.
The Texans bumped their record to 62-52 with this latest triumph.
