Hornets Slip Past Mile High, 6-5

The Mile High Mustangs got a superb performance from center fielder Héctor Lara, but the Eureka Hornets still won the game, 6-5. Lara was named the player of the game despite the loss. He was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Alim bin Umar picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 8-7. Kenkichi Kodo was tagged with the loss. Eureka has now won 3 straight, while the Mustangs have lost 3 in a row.
Ka-fei Bi had a nice at-bat for the Hornets with no one out in the top of the tenth. With the bases empty, the second baseman drew a walk, which would prove important in the Eureka win.
"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Bi said.
