Blazers Lose to Bombers, 5-3
|
Rafael Campos left his imprint on the 5-3 South Carolina win against the Bloomington Blazers. Campos, who is tied for 10th in the TML in triples with 4, went 4-5 with 4 singles, while scoring 3 times. South Carolina starter Beau Miller was credited with the win after throwing 101 pitches over 7 innings. His record now stands at 7-4. Christian Wallace notched his 17th save in 21 chances.
Had Zhao-ying Gai not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Gai hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Bombers.
"Feels good to get the job done," Gai said after the game.
The Bombers bumped their record to 63-50 with this latest triumph.
