Blazers Clip Prowlers in Tight Contest

The Blazers had to overcome a fine performance from Oklahoma City pitcher Manuel Crespo to grab a 7-4 win at Memorial Circle Park. Crespo allowed 3 earned runs over 7.1 innings. Bloomington reliever Tony Gutierrez picked up the win, upping his record to 6-2. Soleh Purbacaraka absorbed the loss. Paco Berroa got the save, his 36th in 42 chances.
Fernando Franco, who is tied for 10th in the TML in runs scored with 67, aided the Bloomington cause with a 2-run single in the top of the ninth. For the game, the shortstop was 3-5 with 3 singles. He drove in 3 runs.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Bloomington manager Javier Ramírez.
The Blazers own a robust 72-37 mark.
