|
Jacksonville got a terrific performance from designated hitter Harold Planter, but it wasn't enough to beat the Dallas Texans. Dallas won the Metroplex Park contest, 4-3. Planter was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs. The winner was Dan Edwards, who threw 114 pitches over 7.2 innings. The right-hander was charged with 3 runs on 10 hits. Adrien Clément converted his 22nd save in 27 tries.
