Beavers Finish Off Black Knights in 12
|
Getting a good performance from third baseman Luke Riviere, the Portland Beavers defeated the Brooklyn Black Knights, 6-3. Riviere went 4 for 6 with a home run and 2 doubles, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once for the Beavers. Portland reliever Jake Adkins picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Kunihiko Mizuno absorbed the loss. The Beavers move to 51-58 with the win, while the Black Knights drop to 60-46.
Riviere had a game-changing double in the top of the 12th. On a first pitch fastball from Kunihiko Mizuno, he banged a bases-clearing double to right-center, giving the Beavers a 6-3 lead. It was the 4th double of the year for Riviere.
"Today was a lot of fun," said Riviere.
