Behind a solid performance from shortstop Fernando Franco, the Bloomington Blazers defeated the Georgia Grays, 7-4. Franco went 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Blazers. Paco Berroa got the save, his 35th in 41 chances.

Franco had a key at-bat for Bloomington early in the game. With the bases loaded, he hit a grand slam home run. It was his 17th home run of the season and gave Bloomington an early 4-0 lead.
