Jacks Edge Past Sasquatch, 3-2
|
Fans who came to Skellington Stadium watched the Jacksonville Jacks and the Seattle Sasquatch fight to the finish.
The Seattle Sasquatch got a superb performance from pitcher Jun Nakayama, but the Jacksonville Jacks still won the game, 3-2. Nakayama was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 8 innings of 5-hit ball. The losing streak for Seattle has now reached 7 games.
Had Kunio Suto not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Suto hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Jacks.
"I felt good up there," said Suto. "I saw the ball well."
