Takahashi Hits 2 home runs in Republic Win

Getting a good performance from third baseman Kazuyoshi Takahashi, the So Cal Republic defeated the New York Mafia, 16-5. Takahashi hit 2 home runs, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3 for the Republic. Masafumi Tamura went 8 innings for So Cal to pick up the win. The left-hander was charged with 2 earned runs. He scattered 6 hits, while walking 0 and striking out 8. His record improves to 2-1.
