Blazers Win at Dallas, 5-2
|
Bloomington beat Dallas on the strength of starter Rubén Cabrera's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a 5-2 win. Cabrera got the win, improving to 9-6. He allowed 5 hits and walked 2 over 7 innings. Cabrera allowed 2 earned runs. Paco Berroa converted his 31st save in 37 tries.
It could have been a different outcome for Bloomington, had it not been for Levi Meeuwenberg, the top prospect . Meeuwenberg contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the seventh inning to put Bloomington up, 3-1.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Meeuwenberg told the Bloomington Citizen.
The Blazers bumped their record to 65-37 with this latest triumph.
