Miner Hurls Stogies to Shutout Win
Peter Miner led the Havana Stogies to a 10-0 shutout victory over the Georgia Grays at The Humidor today.

"My pitching coach told me before the game just to bear down and focus," Miner recalled later. "He said no one was going to hit me if I'm throwing a good breaking ball with good location."

Miner yielded 3 hits and had 5 strikeouts and 3 walks in the standout performance.

"I thought he put the ball where he wanted to," Georgia manager Davey Morris said. "And that's just about the whole secret to pitching."

This season Miner has compiled a 17-4 mark, 2.45 ERA and made 22 starts.
