Beavers Take Nail-Biter Over Marauders
|
Maple first baseman Kojuro Ine had a good game, even if his team did not. The Marauders dropped a 8-7 decision to Portland at Waterfront Park. Ine was 3-5 with 2 home runs, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3. Olivier Martin got credit for the win, improving to 5-5. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 2 innings. The Beavers improve their record to 49-55 with the win over Maple.
Ralph Blair, who is tied for 5th in the RCL in home runs with 22, chipped in for Portland with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the tenth. For the game, the catcher had 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 runs batted in.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Blair told the Portland Gazette.
