Bombers Win at Rubber City, 5-1
|
South Carolina starter Ange Schmit put a stranglehold on the Rubber City offense. The left-hander had complete command of his slider in leading the Bombers to a 5-1 win. The Bombers bumped their record to 57-43 with this latest triumph.
Jean-Claude Petit, who is tied for 9th in the TML with a .888 OPS, aided the South Carolina cause with a 2-run home run in the top of the third. For the game, the second baseman went 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"It was a tough night at the plate," said Rubber City manager Larry Johnson.
