Stogies Come Back Late to Clip Grays
|
The Havana Stogies topped the Georgia Grays, 6-3, with designated hitter Kohei Matsumoto playing a big role. Matsumoto went 2-4 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Stogies in the win. Ti-an Dan picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-1. Martin Blank was tagged with the loss. The Stogies bumped their record to 72-31 with this latest triumph.
Matsumoto had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the ninth. On a 1-1 fastball from Martin Blank, he banged a 3-run home run to right-center, giving the Stogies a 6-3 lead. It was the 9th home run of the year for Matsumoto.
"This place sure got loud," said Reynaldo Vázquez, the Havana manager.
