The Mile High Mustangs did just enough to secure a 2-1 victory over the Hawaii Islanders at Aloha Stadium. Nobody did more than pitcher Ross Allan, who captured player of the game honors. The Mustangs saw their win-loss record go to 54-44. At the same time, the Islanders fell to 59-41.

Shunso Sato, who is tied for 2nd in the TML in bases on balls with 69, aided the Mile High cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the fourth. For the game, the third baseman drove in one run.

"I like our moxie," said Mustangs manager Dave Callahan.
