Takahashi has 3 hit day, Leads Black Knights to Win
|
The Brooklyn Black Knights topped the Vancouver Pioneers by the score of 13-5, with the biggest share of the credit going to center fielder Kawanari Takahashi. Takahashi was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2 for the Black Knights on the day. Xiong Yang got credit for the win, improving to 8-3. He allowed 4 runs on 12 hits in 8 innings. The Black Knights bumped their record to 55-43 with this latest triumph.
Fernando Murillo, who is a four-time All-Star, chipped in for Brooklyn with a grand slam home run in the top of the fifth. For the game, the left fielder had 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 5 runs batted in.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Takahashi told the Brooklyn Gazette.
