Pivotal Game 5 Goes to Host Republic, 2-1
|
The So Cal Republic have a critical edge over the Maple Marauders in the ABL World Series, thanks to the veteran arm of Masafumi Tamura.
Tamura, 31, put on a dominant performance at House of the Republic today, leading the Republic to victory, 2-1, in a pivotal Game 5. So Cal is now one game away from the ABL World Series, leading the best-of-7 series by a margin of 3-2. Maple will need to win both remaining games to advance.
Tamura, who was born in Nisshin, Japan, threw 94 pitches over 8 innings, while allowing 1 earned run.
"That's the key at this level, throwing strike one," said Tamura. "Successful pitchers do it."
Game 6 is set to be played Saturday, November 12th, 2033 at Legends Park.
