Zamora, Marauders Wallop Republic in Game 4 of R4
|
The Maple Marauders defeated the So Cal Republic, 9-2 in Game 4 of the ABL World Series today. Earning player of the game honors was third baseman Jorge Zamora, who went 2-5 with a home run, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2. The win moves Maple into a 2-2 tie with So Cal in the series.
Angel Barajas helped his team jump on top from the get-go. His first time up in the top of the first, he cranked a 2-run home run to give Maple a 2-0 lead.
"We're happy," Zamora told reporters after the win. "When you're in the playoffs, you've got to treat every game like it could be your last."
Game 5 is set to be played tomorrow in Los Angeles. Slated to start are Héctor Zúñiga for the Maple Marauders and Masafumi Tamura for the the So Cal Republic.
