The So Cal Republic defeated the Cabo San Lucas Toreros, 7-2, at Field de Los Layendas today. Leading the charge for So Cal was second baseman Jorge Martínez. He was 2-2 with a home run. The Republic own a robust 72-25 mark.

The Republic got a big at-bat from center fielder Orlando González. For the game, González went 1 for 4. In the top of the ninth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 55th hit of the season gave So Cal a 3-2 lead.

"A great team win and something real positive we can build on," said Martínez after the game.
