Havana Win Evens Series at 3
The Havana Stogies and the So Cal Republic will take the League Pennant to a decisive 7th game. In a must-win situation today, the Stogies beat the Republic 7-4 at House of the Republic to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Havana right fielder Jesús Velásquez was named player of the game in the win after he went 3 for 3 with 3 singles and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 runs.

Susumu Kono made it 7-4 in favor of Havana when he delivered a bases-clearing double. It came with one out in the top of the eighth. The Stogies went on to win.

"We're happy," Kono told reporters after the win. "When you're in the playoffs, you've got to treat every game like it could be your last."

Game 7 is scheduled for tomorrow. The scheduled starters for the game are Camilo Pascual for Havana and Elias Bowen for So Cal.
