When the stakes were high, Elias Bowen raised his game to match.

The right-handed Bowen turned in a stellar performance in Game 3 of the League Pennant today, pitching a 9-inning, complete-game shutout to lead the So Cal Republic to victory. He allowed 7 hits and struck out 5. The win gave So Cal a 2-1 lead over the Havana Stogies in the best-of-7 series.

Bowen was in the zone all game. He frustrated Havana hitters while giving the Republic 9 innings of quality work. Bowen threw 104 pitches, allowing 7 hits and getting 5 punchouts.

"We put it together today and came out with the win," Bowen said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."

Game 4 is scheduled for tomorrow in Havana. The scheduled starters for the game are Felipe Rodríguez for the So Cal Republic and Jimmy Hunter for the the Havana Stogies.
