Blair goes 3-for-5 in Beavers Win
|
Portland and San Francisco duked it out at Golden Gate Park and the Beavers came out victorious.
A 5-RBI performance from the seven-time All-Star Ralph Blair helped the Portland Beavers beat the San Francisco Earthquakes, 6-3. Felipe De La Hoya, the winner, improved to 9-10. He held the Earthquakes to 2 earned runs on 4 hits over 8 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 1.
Early in the game, Blair had a bases-clearing double for Portland. It was his 12th double of the season and put the Beavers on top, 3-0.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Blair, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
