Bayliss, Shamrocks Wallop Wolverines in Game 6 of R2
|
The Pacifica Shamrocks and the Wichita Wolverines will take the Double A World Series to a decisive 7th game. In a must-win situation today, the Shamrocks beat the Wolverines 6-4 at McCormick Field to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Pacifica third baseman Dave Bayliss was named player of the game in the win after he was 2-2 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2.
Bayliss had a consequential at-bat in the bottom of the fifth for the Shamrocks. Coming up with a runner on 1st and Pacifica trailing 3-2, he hit a 2-run home run.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Bayliss.
The next game is scheduled for tomorrow at McCormick Field in Pacifica. Slated to start are Carlos Muñóz for Wichita and Grant Huffman for Pacifica.
