Detroit Breaks Through for First Win in Triple A League Championship; Now Trails 2-1
Already down in the Triple A League Championship, the Detroit Death Stars put on their best show, beating the Antioch Coal Miners by a final score of 4-3 today. Matsuyo Koda earned player of the game honors, as he threw 8 innings of 5-hit ball. Detroit now trails Antioch 2-1 in the best-of-7 affair.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Detroit left fielder Ivan Nunez, facing Zak Osborn, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Death Stars the 4-3 win.

"It's great to get the crowd pumped up," Nunez said.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow. Slated to start are Takeji Ogawa for the Antioch Coal Miners and Steve Ferguson for the the Detroit Death Stars.
