Yamasaki, Maple Start League Pennant Strong with Home Win
|
The Maple Marauders started the League Pennant in style today, downing the visiting Quebec Armada at Legends Park by a score of 12-2 to stake an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Marauders catcher Motonobu Yamasaki was named player of the game after he went 2 for 4 with a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3.
Yamasaki had a big at-bat with the bases loaded in the bottom of the second inning, when he hit a bases-clearing double. The Marauders went on to win.
"I thought we played a nice game," Yamasaki told the Maple Citizen. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Legends Park. Slated to start are Minh-Duc Pamungkas for Quebec and Paul Barrett for Maple.
