Raucous Albuquerque Sports Stadium Crowd Propels Cacti to 7-4 Victory; Series Tied at 1
|
The Albuquerque Cacti topped the Antioch Coal Miners by the score of 7-4 and moved into a 1-1 tie in the Triple A World Series today. The largest share of the credit went to player of the game and Albuquerque starter Ron Callaghan, who threw 5 innings of shutout ball in the win.
Joe Dolinger aided the Albuquerque cause with a 3-run home run in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the right fielder went 1 for 3 with a home run and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.
"You come to the ballpark to do your job and that's what I did today," Callaghan told the Albuquerque Daily.
The next game is set to be played Friday. The scheduled starters for the game are Shuichi Imai for Albuquerque and Adam Pitkeathy for Antioch.
