|
The San Angelo Mustangs moved to within one game of the Round 3 today, downing the Brisbane Bush Wackers on the road at Baylor Ballpark by a score of 3-2. Mustangs right-hander Oscar Mata was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 8 innings of 7-hit ball. The win gives the Mustangs a 4-2 advantage in the best-of-7 Single A World Series.
Mata allowed 2 runs over 8.1 innings. He also racked up 9 strikeouts.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said San Angelo manager Clyde Bowman. "It's usually not just one thing."
