Barajas Helps Marauders Run Win Streak to 9
|
The Maple Marauders topped the Rubber City Rhinos, 10-5, in Thurman Munson League action at Legends Park. The player of the game was Maple right fielder Angel Barajas. Héctor Zúńiga, the winner, improved to 8-4. He held the Rhinos to 3 earned runs on 6 hits over 5.1 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 2. The first-place Marauders have won 9 straight.
Kojuro Ine, who is tied for 5th in the TML in hits with 116, aided the Maple cause with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the first. For the game, the first baseman hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Ine, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
