Johnny Gonzalez could take little solace in pitching a good game. The fact is his Yuma Varmits lost, dropping a 3-1 decision to the Wichita Storm at The Range. David Benitez was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 2 of 3 save opportunities. The Storm bumped their record to 35-25 with this latest triumph.

The Storm got a big at-bat from catcher Reilly Corkum. For the game, Corkum went 1-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the seventh, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 8th home run of the season gave Wichita a 3-1 lead.
