Friedel hits 2 home runs as Totems Squeeze Past St. Paul
|
The Victoria Totems eked out a 4-3 win versus the St. Paul Grognards at Royal Athletic Park. Nobody did more than catcher Ken Friedel, who captured player of the game honors. The win was credited to Nobutoshi Katayama in relief. His record improves to 4-3. Lorenzo Pena took the loss. The Totems bumped their record to 35-26 with this latest triumph.
Friedel had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a 2-1 slider from Lorenzo Pena, he banged a solo home run to right, giving the Totems a 4-3 lead. It was the 5th home run of the year for Friedel.
"This is a great group to be a part of, and it's a big win for us," Friedel told the Victoria Bulletin.
