Bombers Sneak Past Pioneers, 5-4
|
People near Bomber Ballpark no doubt heard the roar of the crowd as the winning run crossed the plate.
The South Carolina Bombers picked up a win at Bomber Ballpark, knocking off the Vancouver Pioneers, 5-4. Starting pitcher Ange Schmit, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. South Carolina is off to a hot start at 6-3.
The Bombers got a big at-bat from shortstop Alexander Beck. For the game, Beck was 2-4 with 2 singles and a walk. In the bottom of the tenth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 8th hit of the season gave South Carolina a 5-4 lead.
"Feels good to get the job done," Schmit said after the game.
