Sedona Sabercats starter Ruben Fernandez pitched a strong game against the St. Paul Grognards at The Thunderdome, leading the Sabercats to a 3-1 win. The Sabercats bumped their record to 33-25 with this latest triumph.

Bill St.john, who is tied for 2nd in the CFL with a .725 slugging percentage, aided the Sedona cause with a run-scoring single in the top of the second. For the game, the left fielder went 3 for 4 with 2 doubles, while adding 2 RBI.

"Ruben was pounding the zone," said Sedona manager Edgardo Bautista.
