Kings Continue Skid Thanks to Gordon, Larvae
|
Jeremy Gordon left his imprint on the 6-4 The Stinging win against the Lumber Kings. Gordon, who is tied for 9th in the CFL in total bases with 110, went 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. J.J. Cassidy got the win, improving to 5-3. He pitched 6.2 innings, giving up 9 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 5 and walking 0. Vince Johnson got credit for the save for The Stinging. It was his 13th of the year.
Gordon had a big at-bat with a runner on 1st in the bottom of the fourth inning, when he hit a 2-run home run. The Larvae went on to win.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Gordon said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
Lumber has now lost 4 consecutive games.
