Martínez Slugs Tribbles to 4-3 Win
|
With catcher Juan Martínez leading the charge, the Rosewell Tribbles defeated the Sedona Sabercats, 4-3, at The Lair at Sabercat Field. Martínez, who is tied for 5th in the CFL in RBI with 37, slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Reliever Junior Castillo picked up the win. His record improves to 5-2. Ruben Fernandez took the loss. The first-place Tribbles have a one-game lead in their division.
Martínez had a key at-bat for Rosewell early in the game. With a runner on 1st, he hit a 2-run home run. It was his 19th home run of the season and gave Rosewell an early 2-0 lead.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Martínez.
